Immediately after the Second World War, the agrarian reform allowed the settlement of the population on the Silan plateau, giving way to the creation of important potato crops. A journey to the largest plateau in Europe, the conditions of the high mountains accompanied by the Mediterranean location, with soils rich in organic substances and potassium that make it optimal for the cultivation of the tuber.
In 2003 the turning point, the creation of a consortium that gathers more than 70 producers and the internationalization of a quality product such as the PatatadellaSila, which manages to obtain the IGP designation.
